omfitness was created out of a true love for Yoga, Movement, Exercises and Meditation. My interest in these subjects is also fuelled by my own studies/education relating to the ageing process. My teaching is targeted mainly at the 40+50+60+70+80+ demographic due to my specialist qualifications. I want to share my knowledge and experience with you, to help and support you on your journey to develop, improve and further your interest in all things relating to self improvement.

I qualified as an Aerobics Instructor in 1996 and my journey into the Health & Fitness industry started I worked for many years as a Gym Instructor and Sports Massage Therapist. I have also been a successful P.T. I continue to professionally develop myself keeping up to date with health and fitness industry advancements teaching only safe effective and as much as possible evidence based exercise. l completed a 2nd year Human Biology and Health Open university course (SK220), my fascination with health and the ageing process then begun. I have studied under some of the leading figures in their own respective fields, I qualified as a PSI (level 4/postgraduate level) attending Salford university under Professor Dawn Skelton (Prof of Ageing and Health). More recently I trained as an iMoveFreely instructor allowing me to incorporate Intrinsic Bio-mechanics techniques into my classes, using techniques/exercises previously only available to elite athletes and Olympians.
I gained my C&G 7307 cert in teaching and was a Health & Fitness Adult Learning Tutor for 14+ years developing and delivering successful courses for the Adult Education Department in Barnsley and the WEA. I have also been a guest speaker at events and lectured on senior exercises. I’m at the present moment studying a L3 Mindfulness Movement and Meditation course. I honestly believe I have found my true purpose in life and so finally achieved a dream of mine and started my own business omfitness Exercise Movement & Meditation together with omfitness Music. I could not have accomplished this without the support of my husband, family, friends, and students and I would like to thank you all.

This Class centres on senior students meeting their appropriate exercise needs with like minded people. The exercises, movements and activities are functional
and challenging. Some seated and standing work will be performed to improve strength and balance. Class ends with a short relaxation.
These Yoga sessions are set at a moderate level, Proper form and alignment is encouraged throughout the class whilst improving strength/flexibility/balance/stamina and inner calm. The class will consist of basic and moderate poses, some poses are organised into a flow routine which the class will follow together. The class ends with breath work (pranayama) and a meditation/relaxation (Yoga Nidra).
The iMovefreely program consists of techniques and exercises that have a proven success rate in helping low grade non-specific pain (including back pain) and also an improvement to back function, these easy to follow exercises precede Pilates Exercises to improve strength, mobility of joints, posture and breathing. The Exercises are performed laid on mats and free standing. Class ends with a short relaxation.
